Type your text once and see it in every style Discord can render — bold, cursive, Gothic, tiny, bubbles and more. One click copies the version you want, ready to paste into Discord.

The most popular use is a styled server nickname — cursive or Gothic names stand out in the member list. The same styles work in your About Me bio, in channel topics, in announcement messages and in event titles. A practical tip: keep your @handle in plain text and put the styled version in your nickname, so people can still mention and search you.
| Place | Support | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Server nickname | Works | All alphabets on this page render in the member list and in chat headers. |
| About Me / bio | Works | Full Unicode support; cursive, Gothic and tiny styles are the favourites here. |
| Channel names & topics | Mostly works | Styled letters are accepted, but very decorated text can be hard to read in the sidebar — use it for topics and one-word channel names. |
| Messages & announcements | Works | Everything renders in chat. Heavy glitch text can overlap lines, so keep it light. |
| @handle (username) | Does not work | Discord handles allow only lowercase a-z, digits, underscore and dot. Styled characters are rejected — put the styled version in your nickname instead. |
Because the @handle field is restricted to lowercase ASCII letters, digits, underscore and dot — that is a Discord rule, not a limitation of the characters. The good news: your server nickname and global display name accept full Unicode, so use the styled version there and keep the plain handle for mentions.
Yes, styled Unicode letters are accepted in channel names and topics. Two practical notes: Discord lowercases channel names automatically in some clients, and heavily decorated text is hard to scan in the sidebar, so most servers style the channel topic instead of the name.
Their device font does not include that Unicode block. The Mathematical Alphanumeric styles (bold, italic, script, Gothic, outline, monospace) ship with modern iOS, Android, Windows and macOS and are safe; the newer decorative sets like dark bubbles and squared letters can appear as boxes on older devices.
Not by typing the plain version — styled letters are different characters, so search and autocomplete will not match them. The standard trick is a styled nickname for looks plus a plain-text handle or a plain word inside the nickname that people can actually type.
