Random Paragraph Generator

Need a paragraph of readable English right now? Pick how many paragraphs, how long, and a topic — every sentence is original, so the output is safe to use as placeholder text anywhere.

How this works

The page carries a bank of 72 original English sentences across six topics — everyday life, nature, food, work, travel and technology. Each time you generate, your browser picks sentences at random (never repeating one within the same paragraph) and groups them into paragraphs of the length you chose. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is uploaded: change the settings and it regenerates instantly, offline-capable once the page has loaded.

What people use random paragraphs for

Designers drop them into mockups and templates as placeholder copy that actually reads like English — clients react to real sentences very differently than to lorem ipsum. Teachers and tutors use a fresh paragraph a day for typing drills and reading fluency. Developers feed them into comment feeds, chat UIs and content cards to test wrapping, truncation and pagination. Writers use a single random sentence as a prompt: disagree with it, continue it, or set a timer and freewrite from it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use the generated paragraphs for?

Placeholder copy in design mockups and website templates, writing prompts and warm-up exercises, typing and reading practice, testing layouts and comment feeds, and any situation that needs readable English text on demand. The sentences are original to this site, so you can paste the output into client work, classrooms and tests without quoting anyone's published writing.

How is this different from lorem ipsum?

Lorem ipsum is scrambled pseudo-Latin: it has the rhythm of a language but no meaning, which is exactly why readers skip over it. This generator produces real English sentences, so anything that will be read by humans — a draft, a demo, a classroom handout — behaves the way real content will. Real words also expose layout problems that fake Latin hides, like hyphenation, awkward line breaks and punctuation at column edges.

Are the sentences copied from books or websites?

No. Every sentence in the bank was written for this tool. Nothing is scraped from books, articles or other websites, so there is no quoted material in the output and no attribution to worry about. Each generation also avoids repeating a sentence within the same paragraph.

Can I use the output commercially?

Yes. The paragraphs are random combinations of this site's own original sentences, generated on your device. Use them in mockups, demos, products and teaching materials freely — a credit is appreciated but not required. If you need large volumes of unique permanent copy, though, real writing will always beat random assembly.

Does the generator store or upload anything?

No. The sentence bank ships with the page and the random picking runs in JavaScript on your device. Nothing you generate is sent to a server, logged or stored — close the tab and the text is gone unless you copied it.
